Everywhere I’ve been in Tassie, there has been EV charging. Even in the central highlands. If I had an EV, a Rivian with a 180kw battery, it would have been easy to travel the whole state. Just stay imagine when Oz does start getting serious about charging infrastructure.
In early 1900’s US, there were no service stations. You purchased fuel from the grocery or hardware store out of a barrel. It took years to build a network of pipelines, railroad and truck distribution networks. By 1935 there were more than 200000 service stations.
The electrical grid is already built, granted in needs augmentation to integrate renewables and micro networks, but the heavy lifting is done and over the next few decades, charging infrastructure will proliferate. This won’t be a discussion in a few years. It just will be and FF stations will be shutting up for good. Then the discussion will be do Bunnings have diesel in a drum out the back.
