Morning folks - I flew up to the gold coast on Friday to visit some family. Got off the plane and hopped on a bus out the front of the terminal for the 15min trip to palm beach. About 5 mins in to my journey I noticed the bus seemed unusually smooth and quiet, with only a very faint audible tone from the drivetrain. Then it hit me - I was sitting on an EV. Sure enough I googled it and there were 10 fully electric buses introduced tot he GC fleet in 2022, and possible more since. This was a full sized passenger bus, with luggage etc. Identical in appearance to all the others. Just minus the noise and rattle and diesel exhaust fumes.
I could not wipe the smile off my face - to be sitting on a BEB in the gold coast of all places, and it was just a run of the mill passenger bus, not even heralded as anything special. This is really happening.
