I have seen the futures market had very little actual volume delivered so far for Jan and Feb and the March contract only has 452t if I read the open interest correctly. So more of a financial tool than an actual delivery tool?

Remember, Leshitolite production is on the ropes, hence PLS BMX auction. Smart move, checks out IMO....
