Funny, the bloke that I was talking to on way out of last shift who owns a BMW 330E and Tesla LR Model 3 stated he wouldnt buy another EV again but would not hesitate on another hybrid. This is using a lease where the entire cost is pre tax (the only way to make an EV or PHEV cost comparable).
The recent "surge" in EV sales is mostly due to the fringe benefit changes to leases for EV's and PHEV's last year, no GST, and employers installing outlets. The zealots bought in early and now the tax concessions are the driving factor.
