There is a bit "playing out" here at the moment. Hydrogen is going to be useful but it's not going to catch up with lithium in cars. Hydrogen has a number of logistical issues they can be solved for sure but lithium ion will have the market share and be improved to a point consumers won't have any reason to take up hydrogen. I don't think we are going to see hydrogen being generated in peoples back yards but we are seeing lots of solar panels and battery walls going in. Hydrogen (ammonia) for the big stuff is definitely going to happen just ask Twiggy who has the money to make it happen.
Big Oil is looking for an exit strategy from their investments and an entry into new energy- most of them are slow to move but they also have enough money and influence to mess with the renewable boom.
Every one is "making" an EV even Apple and Sony are messing with it but they are only just hitting the road and in reality the price is still high - you can run your ICE car for a couple more years watch the EV price drop and then get in.
Its going to happen patience is the key - going to be a fun couple of years
