Chinese National Energy Administration proposing ban on low CV and high sulfur coal import
Strategic Research Institute 17/05/13 - It is reported that China's National Energy Administration is framing a policy to curb import of low grade thermal by imposition of import ban to address the problem of poor air quality in Chinese cities due to high emission levels from power plants
Reports say that thermal coal with low calorific value less than 4,500kcal/kg, ash content of more than 25% and a sulfur content of more than 1% will be banned.
