I'm working in Asia for nearly 6 years. Left Australia in early 2003 when our saving was going nowhere, given the high rental and cost of living. We're staying in Malaysia (KL) since last year, pretty good standard of living here, and a lot cheaper than Australia. We're just a normal Australian family wanting a home:), now might be a chance for us. Years of saving will hopefully pay off.
