A jump in silver prices could be "just around thecorner," given a bullish technical picture, says the chief economist of Barratt's Bulletin.

Compared with gold's technicals, which Barratt says are
also bullish, "silver looks a little more explosive." He notes that momentum indicators for the grey metal signal near-term upside. The trigger for a move higher is at $28.50 a troy ounce, with an intermediate upside target of $35.00/oz, he says.

He tips support at $26.50/oz. Spot silver is trading at $27.27/oz, up 9 cents from its previous settlement.
