Good news to finsish the first week of the year.
We do not live in Ireland,Japan,USA or Iceland we live in Australia.
The Chinese are not going to buy your house and force you out. The Greeks and Italians in the 70s didn't the Japanese in the 80s didn't so you are safe.
Interest rates have come down, so even if you borrowed heaps in 2008 you have been paying off you house and not wasted rent. Even if you have negative equity you have a roof over your head and you are free to do whatever you want to property.
The subsidies paid to Real Estate are a fraction of what has been paid to prop up the car industry in Vic and S.A. and the Government can tax the crap out of Queensland and W.A. to keep the pork barrel fresh.
