CASPIAN Oil and Gas says it expects to complete the Mailisu III-5 well in the Mailisu III oil field, Kyrgyz Republic, as a future producer after the well delivered live oil shows.

The company said the well penetrated limestone Beds V and VII at depths of 673-691m respectively.
Wireline logs have been run and the well has been cased for production testing, according to the company.
Mailisu III-5 was drilled to test the reservoir potential within the Mailisu III oil field.
Caspian is now planning to drill West Mailisu-1, the next well in its seven-well appraisal program.
West Mailisu-1 will test the presence of oil on the western flank of the Mailisu III structure, 3km west of the previous drilling area.
According to Caspian, the well is considered a higher risk but, if successful, would significantly expand the field’s resource potential.
