TENNIS legend Martina Navratilova says it might be time to change the name of Margaret Court Arena after the Australian great said she would stop using Qantas “where possible” in protest at the airline’s promotion of same-sex marriage.
Court’s stance has prompted a fierce backlash, with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and current Australian player Casey Dellacqua - who is openly gay - weighing in on Friday.
Mr Turnbull sidestepped the question of whether Court’s name should be removed from the arena at Melbourne Park.
“Whatever people think of her opinion on gay marriage, she is one of the all time greats and the arena celebrates that,” Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull told 3AW.
“She is the greatest of greats of tennis and that’s why it’s named after her.”
Court sparked the furore in a letter published in The West Australian newspaper.
“I am disappointed that Qantas has become an active promoter for same sex marriage,” Perth resident Court wrote.
“I believe in marriage as a union between a man and a woman as stated in the Bible.

You hear the gay lobby argue its bigotry and hate those who appose the redefinition of marriage

Having an out dated gender bias in marriage is wrong because what is important is love and no one should stop the love between consenting adults getting married.

Well I hope the bigotry does not extend when a grandfather wants to have a loving sexual relationship with his grandson when he turns 18. Hopefully Qantas and the AFL pushes programs that support marriage between a Grandfather and grandson nothing worse when two loving and consenting adults cannot get married but there will be bigots full of hate who discriminate not against gender but on an intergenerational bias.

And what if in two years time the second grandson becomes an adult and wants to participate in a wholesome homosexual relationship with this married grandfather and brother. Surely there will not be bigots who will discriminate on the number of consenting adults in a marriage, why not three granddaddy and grandsons. Hate filled anti polygamist who although do not discriminate on gender but on the artistically capped number in a marriage well they are just pure hate filled bigots.

When a wall has been put in place for a very long time think very carefully why it was put there in the first place before you rush to tear it down.
