RANGE Resourcees has produced a letter from the Somalia prime minister supporting the deal for petroleum and mineral rights in the Puntland region concluded between Range, its partner Consort Private Limited and the Puntland state government.
The letter states in part:
"The TFG [Transitional Federal Government] of Somalia has trust and full confidence with the Puntland State of Somalia and therefore supports its effort toward enhancing the national economy by materializing the exploration, exploitation and marketing of the country's sub-soil natural resources in close collaboration with its partners (Consort Private Limited & Range Resources Limited) in this business.
"Hoping a successful endeavour for all parties. I assure you my highest consideration.
"Ali Mohamed Gedi, Prime Minister."
