We were advised in mid February that our NF/23BYO Line ADSL2 service had been declared PCUSER Magazine?s Internet Product Of The Year for 2009 and would be reported as such in the February edition of the magazine (page 54).
While the only 'awards' that count in business are the monthly management accounts (and the subsequently yearly tax return) that show the company has achieved a planned profit and a planned revenue growth, getting some sort of external recognition is always a very pleasant experience particularly when it is so unexpected.
We have one of the walls in our small reception area in North Sydney pretty much full of the various awards given to Exe... over the last six years (the first one dating back to July 2004; SMH - Best Broadband Product in low download, medium download categories and runner up in high download category) and we have small table the top of which is getting quite crowded with 'trophies'.
Of course, in the scheme of things these displays don't mean a great deal but they are a vague reminder to our employees (and maybe to our visitors) that the company is recognised outside its own operations as doing some very good things and consistently doing them over time.
Exe... Included In Asia?s Fastest Growing Tech Companies
For the third year in a row Exe.... was included in Deloitte?s ranking of the fastest growing technology companies in Asia. ?Awards? such as these do not mean very much in themselves but it?s unusual for ?mature? companies to be able to sustain very high levels of growth beyond their start up years. It is even more remarkable for companies to sustain their growth ?organically? (not taking over other businesses) as Exe....has done.
The ranking ?award? is based on the, audited, revenue growth over the past three years which in Exe...?s case is 91% or an average of growth of around 30% each year over the past three years. In an industry where growth is more often measured in single or low double digits Exe.... continues to exceed that of all of its competitors by maintaining a business objective of offering the lowest cost range of communications services to both residential and business users.
New ?Ancillary Service? Pricing Options
Exe..... has introduced ?packs? of ancillary services to provide greater value to customers who may use relatively few of Exe.... ?add on services such as:

NSW PoPs
We continued to fine tune the new caching engines and they are now delivering over 400 mbps of bandwidth to NSW users in peak times and up to 900 mbps for a brief period around 2 am each day.
For the first time in our ?history? we actually reduced an IP source by 150 mbps based partly on the additional bandwidth generated by the new PeerApp boxes and the larger Akamai caching boxes but mainly because almost 50% of our really heavy down load users left us to move to AAPT?s and TPG?s ?unlimited ? ADSL2 plans. It was surprising just how much bandwidth some 300 users consume.
PoPs In Qld, Vic, TAS, WA, SA, NT and the ACT
We added the additional ?trans Bass Strait bandwidth in Hobart and will commission it in early March. We also completed the activation of more band width for Adelaide and Canberra and continued the activation of more band width on Brisbane and Melbourne on the planned monthly schedule.
Over February the Exe.... network delivered a new high of 5.6 gbps of band width in peak periods ? almost double what was being delivered 12 months ago.
Services Provided By Exe.... Sri Lanka
We reviewed the progress of the Sri Lankan operation in late February and are, generally, satisfied with the standard of support and other services being provided by the SL company.
We signed the contracts for the SL personnel to move to another floor in the building we are in which will provide double the floor space we have now. This will allow us to increase the functions provided from Sri Lanka to include much greater programming capabilities and more network monitoring as well as 24 x 7 support for most services.
The average call wait times continue to fall and we are beginning to approach the world?s best standards for call answer times which is our first objective.

Exe.... is finalizing the last projects we will support in 2010 which are now budgeted to require almost $A500,000 for this calendar year. It is only because of the fact that people continue to support Exe.... by selecting us for the provision of their hoe communication services that it is possible for this money to be made available to support a few of Australia?s more endangered flora, fauna and avia.
