Thanks for posting that, it really is a good example of how some get it so wrong.

Post the other stuff too if you can, perhaps in the same post.

I would have thought that SB2000 and smartinvestor would have checked the sector performance before shooting their mouths off, poor form.

Given this information, the REIT sector should perform well on Monday relative to the rest of the sectors, if the ASX was to follow the DOW as they are implying with this thread.

The amount of posts that SB2000 makes, would make you think that he may know what he is talking about, obviously he spends way to much time posting instead of doing the most basic of research.

You may want to also add this picture and comments.....

Below is a map of the market, I have highlighted the BANKS, GOLD and REIT sectors
You can clearly see that the REITs performed just as well as gold....

Perhaps some need to look more closely at the market sectors rather than lumping it all together.

As you said bank stocks were down, more interesting was that REITs were all up on the DOW.
A little more research required by some obviously.

    PSA (PUBLIC STORAGE) + 6.80%
VNO (VORNADO REALTY TRUST) + 8.19%
    EQR (EQUITY RESIDENTIAL) + 8.70%
PCL (Plum Creek Timber Co. Inc. REIT) + 3.79%
HST (Host Hotels & Resorts Inc.) + 7.51%
BXP (Boston Properties Inc.) + 5.42%
    PLD (PROLOGIS) + 2.97%

So the REIT sector was actually holding up the DOW, interesting.....

PS if you post the above a picture showing the sector will come up on HC
