Classic case of striking while iron's Siriusly hot







A well-known former Goldfields footballer hopes to kick some goals in the mining industry by riding the wave of investor support for market darling Sirius Resources.

Former engineering firm boss Justin Doutch, a multiple premiership player with Mines Rovers in the Goldfields Football League, returned to Kalgoorlie-Boulder this past week chasing investors for proposed new float Classic Minerals.

Mr Doutch said there had been “strong support” for the company’s flagship Fraser Range project, 35km north-east of Sirius’ Nova and Bollinger discoveries.

Shares in Mark Creasy-backed Sirius have soared from 5.7 cents last July to $4.47 at yesterday’s close and most junior explorers stuck in the doldrums can only dream of getting caught in its slipstream.

Fellow Fraser Range hopefuls Sheffield Resources, Matsa Resources and Buxton Resources have all had significant share price gains on Sirius’ discoveries, 100km north-east of Norseman.
Classic is making the case for its initial public offering – 22.5 million shares at 20 cents a share to raise up to $4.5 million – with plans already well advanced for an “aggressive” drilling campaign. “Classic is obviously off to a great start being so close to Sirius but this company won’t be in the shadow of anyone, we will have our own great story to tell,” Mr Doutch said.
