    actuary, I think it happens more often than you think. How many times have you seen a victim, or relatives of some victim of a crime or some other tragedy, indicate forgiveness towards those who caused their grief.
    The reason they are able to do this is because they realise that if they are unable to come to terms with the reality of the situation,they are likely to themselves become consumed by their own emotions effectively not allowing them to move on with their own lives. By truly being able to give forgiveness means that they have been able to put everything into it's proper perspective and move on with their lives.
    Whilst the circumstances for giving forgiveness may vary widely, the effect on those who give it will be much the same in that it means they have all dealt with the problem and are able to put it behind them, essential for anyone who wants to live their lives their way, and to their full potential.
