    That may well happen...depends on how the market perceives SSM's future earnings capacity, and whether it can maintain such a considerable dividend...it should be noted though that the shareprice has fallen considerably in the past couple of months, despite the dividend announcement.

    As for post ex-dividend, it is a phenomena generally seen right across the bourse, that is, that a stock generally tends to fall by the equivalent amount of the dividend the day after...IMO, and IMO only, I do not see SSM continuing to climb post dividend...the traders (and that's the vast majority here) will be long gone, and it's future earning capacity in softer economic conditions will likely be reflected in the shareprice, in the same manner that it has in recent months.

    In regards to MQG, as Wilson mentioned, it did come back, but one only needs to look at MQG's shareprice now to see that post dividend, the shareprice will reflect how the market perceives the company's future fundamentals.

    If you like what you see in SSM, buy and hold....one just has to do their homework, and be happy with the choice one makes.
