Australia LNG plans must be done before 'glut'

MELBOURNE (MarketWatch) -- Australia's A$130 billion in liquefied natural gas projects need to be completed before a global supply glut hits in five years, the Australian Financial Review reported Wednesday, citing a leading U.S. contractor.
"My gut feeling says you've got to give your projects a final investment decision and get them into the marketplace within five years," Dick McIlhattan, head of LNG at Bechtel, was quoted as saying.
McIlhattan said that projects due to come online later in the decade may struggle to secure buyers for their gas.
