Voice only tele-protocols will be a thing of the past very soon, wireless applications are dominant and open season on infrastructure. Unwired have over 20% of the market in Sydney alone and have 2GB in their back pocket and fleets of mobile sales units roaming the suburbs, its in effect as we speak!
By the time the chips can process the ones and zeroes fast enough to give us hologram handsets (like in Star Wars), relay bases and outer orbit sats will be provided at loss mainly by the content providers who want to sell us soft porn and their version of the news.
Telstra will be a broken up and busted ar$e wholesaler of outdated telecoms, its holdings in sporting rights and half baked never successful info ventures will of deminished and it will be long past being a political darling. In short it will be HISTORY.
