I agree that that's a problem. But, perhaps it's also caused by some cyclical factors. For instance ... our dollar is stll too strong ... which keeps export sales down. Also, the industry went through a massive boom and then suddenly a massive glut with an oversupply of grapes and an overcrowded market.
I read a few months ago that the new middle class in China are buying our wine ... this could be a massive opportunity for these wineries if they use their brains!
