They can offer up to 15% per year I believe and above that they need to take it to shareholders - I see your point it would need a majority and its hard to see Etihad - AIZ & SIA voting yes which would kill this thought UNLESS Borghetti believes he has the numbers? Hard to see it though - more likely SIA will swallow AIZ's share AFTER this deal with China was done because I also see that the Chinese are not granting internal licences except for their state controlled lot so the HNA through Virgin would be a back door for them in a partnership with SIA using an Australian based carrier to do it and then slowly gobble them up... this whole play might be about China..
