Hasn't Forsyth Barr had a sell recommendation on Auckland Airport since around the 3 or 4 dollar mark. The market ignored this advice and went up to $6.39, and currently sits at $5.82. (the sell recommendation still stands today)
Not sure how much weight you should place on an Air nz recommendation from them?
Were they not still recommending Feltex, when it went under?
Imo Air NZ has to be a huge buy. Record profits to be announced, more destinations being flown to, more passengers carried, etc. No doubt special dividends will again be paid out.
Other airlines have similar issues with fuel costs and other expenses as well? So what.
Airlines are in boom times currently with huge numbers of people travelling. (just look at the massive numbers of orders for aircraft there are - Boeing has a 5000 plus aircraft order backlog)
And the Chinese/Indian factor. Their citizens are only at the very start of an absolutely massive travelling period. How many billions of people reside there? And hundreds of thousands of them are becoming wealthier by the day, and with all the extra spending power, they are looking to travel the world - and they love NZ. (and Aussie
