brindy I think what has been driving the VML sp recently is imminent news to flow from a japanese JV agreement. JOGMEC have been in discussion already with interested parties.
From my own understanding the VML watershed project is going to be more expensive an operation that CNQs. However, perhaps they are easier to work with and get things done faster than CNQ. I have spoken with both management teams and both defend their projects vigorously, each placing theirs as the best.
To be honest, CNQ frustrates the crap out of me as we should have been over the line months ago with finances. I am hearing rumours from some Japanese sources in Singapore that even the Japanese will not accept delays for too long, so I am not sure what to believe anymore. CNQ need to pull their finger out and start securing what they have instead of playing devils advocate.
