I've been keeping my eye on flightradar looking for USAF tankers. Tracked a Globemaster into Germany and noticed this skinny little aircraft depicted, it was a glider. Looked around and there were a number of them, all a few thousand feet. Checked out windy.com and it is warm, light winds clear skies.
Germany is the home of gliding. Hitler encouraged it while being restricted by the Treaty of Versailles and they get no sea breezes to flatten the thermals.
