What variety of mandarin? Imperial/ellendale/daisy/louise(very rare)/honey murcott/nules/japanese seedless/ortanique/topaz/afourer/seminole/mineola/Dancy/satsuma/hickson/clementines/pixie/silverhill/etc.I've got all the oz varieties in my garden(have got 20 daisys! lol!
Some very rare ponkans,which I swallowed,the seeds ie,whilst in China on holidays,hehe!...first fruit appearing this year.If its got a seed,I'll grow it too...see how far the mandarin regresses back,like the first human out of africa type thingybob...

I use dynamic lifters(its got animal manure,blood and bone and kelp),late winter, and swear by it.Just don't tell the old guy(owner) at Wandella Nursery,lol...it's a no,no...Water twice a week in summer.At start of summer,fertiliser again with magnesium sulphate+potash to sweetened fruits.Always cull the fruits early,eg if you have imperial mandarins,get rid of 3/4 of fruit buds...Don't over water or over fertilise...you get fruit drop,or fruit split.Mandarin trees do not need a lot of trimming,altho occasionally I skeletonise them..GL
