Yes, it looked like a similar announcement to the one about Cerviscreen months ago, and I had to re-read it a number of times to work out the real difference.

There are two very important words missing from this one that were in the previous one: "Cancer" and "Genera", plus they added "STI's".

What they are announcing here is a push to use CerviScreen for detecting STI's, as separate from the Genera-based DNA test for cervical cancer. As I remember if from the AGM, there was talk of different coloured CerviScreen kits, one for each type of test.

The big thing here is that they are now going to roll it out, as effectively an additional product to the one previously announced.

It is interesting that Genera are not mentioned, as they are developing STI tests as well. Perhaps it is because they are not developed enough, and Gribbles is ready to roll with what they already have available. It does speak volumes in terms of the relationship between the three parties ... obviously PLT are with Healthscope, and Healthscope had already chosen to use Genera for the cervical cancer screening.

It is probably a bit of a confusing announcement, or possibly poorly worded, in that it doesn't really spell out the major difference between what they announced today verses the previous one, given the same product name (used for a different purpose). It makes you wonder if the market response might have been even more emphatic if they had.

Anyhow, it's always good to see the SP increase. I couldn't help selling another tiny parcel (this one bought at 7c, sold at 19.5c), as there will probably be a chance to pick up more again at a cheaper price, otherwise there are plenty of other bargains out there to use profits for. I still have a large holding (plus options), and the bulk of that will stay put for a long time, up to and probably well past the $1 / $2 / $3+ mark. Heck, this thing will eventually pay dividends!
