Imo, people on the sidelines, wanting it badly at these prices were just waiting to see confirmation of a bottom and some buying interest.
People chased it a little hard too soon imho. Got a few at 39 & 39.5 myself, but wasn't prepared to chase it over the rubicon (40) . Not brave enough or solvent enough for big buying either.
