I just did a comparison of the CSL weekly against the AUDUSD trying to see if the strong rise in valuation was a direct response to the weak AUD. There is obviously a strong correlation but current zone above 100bucks started tapering off as the AUD started reversing the downward trend.
Since January AUD strength, the sell off in CSL is not exceptional taking into consideration price is very elevated from a chart perspective. Another industry juggernaut RHC went no where for a year of AUD falling.
This is my one attempt at analysing this doubt once and for all because I keep hearing the correlation being repeated in the media constantly to explain away a fall in these FX exposed revenue generated income from oversea operations.
