Well we are nearly at the point where the worlds shit is well and truely hitting the fan.
When a simple 66 year old butcher offers a wage of 130k a year and cannot get one trained person to apply, it's a sign that we are headed for a total breakdown of our way of life.
For years governments have endorsed higher education making us all feel we need a University degree to get ahead. They have ignored the fact that only a small percentage of young people have what it takes to become a doctor, lawyer, scientist etc . They have closed down the Tafes and stopped encouraging young people to take up a trade . Now the old trades people are all retiring and there is nobody left to teach them anymore.
Australia like most western countries is now left with a hoard of over educated self centred wannabees who think life owes them a living.
One half of the population is too busy posting social media files about themselves telling people how great they are ( influencers) and the other half are so fuxxing stupid that they are watching these videos and playing monkey see money do.
Mimicking anything that is deemed good by anyone with enough "followers".
My God if one of these pumped up idiots put a tat on their forehead saying " shoot me Im stupid" they would be fighting to get in line at the tatoo parlour!
We now lack the number of engineers, builders, butchers, bakers, farmers, plumbers, mechanics etc etc. we need to build our roads and houses, grow and prepare our food and many other essential services.
We have plenty of public servants though, maybe we should be reskilling these to a job where they actually get their hands dirty and produce something? Too late, all the people who had the skills and some common-sense to teach them are dead or well on the way out.
All we can do is welcome China with open arms, they have all the trades people and an army.
Can we turn things around? I dont see how.
