I believe that Adam Goodes will make a very positive contribution to our society, in his role as Australian of the Year. I am quite surprised that Shane Crawford was not nominated for his amazing bike ride from eastern Australia, through many country towns, across the Nullabor to the west. His grueling ride across the nation raised awareness of breast cancer and he also raised in excess of a million dollars for a very worthy cause. Both men are talented athletes, that have provided incredible inspiration to many Australians.
