i'd much rather mentally torture
Carot , stick or reason I tried all methods and theree is no magic cure. And you won't know for twenty years, to bad if you choose the wrong course of action. I regret smacking my children they are only young for a very short period of time and all I am is a bully. I hate withholding favours in mental torture senario, you can try to reason with a two year old good luck, its me me me at that age. I'm afraid kid will err a lot of the time and every time is different, take a deep breath count to ten, think what you really want to achieve for your child and act appropriately, it might be a light tap, it might be sent to their room , it might be no sweets tonight, ALL WAYS EXPLAIN WHY ITS IS WRONG (even for your own benefit but don't act just because your angry otherwise your kid will think that its all right to use excessive force any you'll have lost a little bit.
