google flu trends spike - great for lani trial

Its amazing what a difference a month makes. This time last month, flu season in the US was looking rather average, but now they are sitting on High in pretty much every state. I guess the sudden cold snap might have something to do with this, but add to the mix, reports in the US in the last few days of Tamiflu resistance and this augers well for the LANI Trials.

Will be interesting also how the stockpiles are impacted.

What is typically weird are references to Tamiflu Resistance and in the same breath interest in IV Relenza - but no mention of normal Relenza (or even Peramivir - perhaps also resistance to this as per the Japan update).

The spirit of Peter Cook appears alive and well in new mgt. I'd be looking to them for a Press Release update on US LANI trial site enrolments being nicely on track given the latest spike...hello mgt, anybody there? Perhaps they have the flu...
