What if there is no orbit, what if the "Earth Disc" just flips on a fixed point and the moon remains stationary kinda being dragged through space by our gavitational force. It never collides with use as we are travelling around the sun at the same speed. The earth discs vertical flip takes 24hrs ... giving us day and night and our tidal "slosh".
