All government are trying to do is have google and social media companies pay for content that they use to drive up their market. Most people are now getting their content from these sources and not buying newspapers or free to air television so somebody needs to pay for these people to provide content. If not there will be no news. It is incredibly fair to pay for what is used. I couldn’t care if they decide not to pay, and withdraw entirely from the market as they are now censoring and promoting the stories they want out there anyway. Happy for them to leave out shores and there are many other search engines, and the technology to build search engines is available cheaply. People use google search due to brand recognition, not because it is better.
