    Now you're starting to get the idea, AtomAnt.
    "Things" always have some value, against a currency and against each other.
    You are correct when you discuss the value of oil and heroin. The first though is flammable and may burn your house down, the second is illegal and they'll take your house if they find it.
    At the moment these "things", let's limit ourselves to commodities, are increasing in value against $US which is losing friends fast. The easiest commodity to buy and store is GOLD. But gold is more than a commodity, which you argue against.
    If you believe no proof is necessary, if you don't no proof is possible.
