I think this may be unprecedented in US political history - a political party distancing themselves from their own Presidential candidate.
I don't think the GOP can disendorse Trump or switch him for Pence now as ballots have already been sent out and early voting begun in some states. They will have to stick it out, lick their wounds after the loss, and basically deny Trump ever existed next time around. Truly bizarre.
