And @ Petere: just because the Product is RMEC does not automatically mean it is low grade; Monazite sand contains 2.5% or 25,000ppm Thorium so a 40% REMC will contain almost 1kg/t ! It most definitely needs to be addressed by Management !
I get very suspicious when the Minister fails to prioritise a major Environmental concern like Radionuclides and yet makes a issue about 'Cultural Heritage' when setting the parameters for the EES. I used to work for the Vic Mines Dept' and I know how they bury contentious issues ! Plausible Deniability at work.
