Staff remain unpaid, some for months. That's a fact.
I sympathise with other SHs, although as Markirkis points out: this is the risk we take.
On the other hand, although employees should be a little vigilant when taking up work, they shouldn't have to worry about whether their employer can pay if they're willing to hire! I've never run a credit check on any employer before an interview.
In this case, we're talking about grossly overdue payment for relatively low paying positions. From what I've been told, some employees verged on foreclosure or eviction from their rentals. Makes you wonder how those people got through Christmas.
I would assume similar outcomes apply to these previously mentioned small suppliers who might have provided in good faith, but don't have the resources to perform background/extensive credit checks like their larger counterparts.
I do hope we see a recovery ASAP. IMHO, the board deserve a pat on the back if they get this thing running properly, but they also deserve much worse for hitting rock bottom and the way they've seemingly taken advantage of their employees and suppliers.
