Thank you for you input, good points, taken.
I was trying to mention, more the point of my scepticism of recos by newsletters; the newsletter in question is well researched and presented, and makes goods points also, but from memory it had a buy on QBE about a year ago when SP was approx a dollar higher.
I think gottalovemt has a very good point with the $US / $AU. From what I understand QBE hedges and invests a lot of its capital in the US in $US, and one of the main reasons for the stagnation has been the strength of the $AU. If a correction of either was to occur then QBE and many other stocks would break the shackles.
