It is amusing eagle to read the posters here defending the tax concessions for the very rich 0.4% of the population who have over $2 million in their superannuation accounts. These are the elite who would not even need to rely on superannuation to support them in retirement. I guess these same posters also support the Liberal's plan to cut the concessions for low income earners superannuation contributions.
I saw figures in another thread which indicated that government finances would actually be improved if all superannuation concessions were removed and everyone was paid the age pension. I have always thought superannuation was a con for everyone except the very well off and that just proves it. The fund managers cream off the profits with excessive fees anyway.
