First off, the market if it was smart wouldn't take what companies say on face value. RE: Centro
AFG just doesn't look cool and they have eff all profile with the larger investment community. The Qantas failed bid obviously didn't help either.
You don't need to be involved with subprime to be affected by subprime. Where the SP is concerned, subprime and the soon to be released losses on prime loans are going to affect it indirectly.
Have said that, its heading into bargain territory, but with a credit squeeze, people are a bit more picky where they put their money.
