I think the government should support businesses that are also supported by their owners.
If the owners don’t believe and don’t want to invest in the business, why should the government?
Historically, the majority owners of VAH have pitched in and supported the business (except Air New Zealand).
IMO, if VAH needs additional funds, the government should say, for every $1 shareholders put in, govt will lend the same amount as an interest free loan.
Aust Federal govt should not become a shareholder in VAH (IMO).
