Happy for them to try anything that results in positive like-for-like sales growth, as without that, there is only one direction the share price will be going...
However, this might not be as easy as it sounds, as the shelf space that is given up to Rivers products replaces traditional Millers garment racks. So the question is how successful this strategy will be. Will the female Millers customer really purchase more shoes - presumably for their husbands - from Millers than they previously bought in terms of garments from that very same space?
Anyway, good retailers will test and try zillions of things and through science and intuition they find out what works and what does not and then they will deliver results accordingly. Poor retailers on the other hand will try just as many things, but in the end simply will not manage to deliver positive results.
If no positive results are being delivered over a number of reporting periods, shareholders and the Board need to ask themselves if management are remunerated appropriately and indeed whether or not the Board has appointed the best possible management for the business...
