Perusing Glassdoor app to check some uploads from former employees on their experience at SFH; whilst inevitably bitter, instructive to read, gets straight to the point of core stock discounting issue and lack of real product differentiation of any substance:

"Unrealistic Expectations"
Former Employee - Retail Sales Assistant in Brisbane
Doesn't Recommend
Pros
60% off Discount for employees
Fellow employees are usually nice to work with
Shops are usually pleasant/airconditioning
Cons
Expectations of senior management of what is actually achievable on the shop floor is ridiculous. Huge amount of stock which is unmanageable especially at Mothers Day and Xmas. Managers only have another employee on the floor for 3 hours for a lunch cover. Too few employees available at the stores. Pressure put on you to become available for shifts regardless of your other responsibilities. Too much paperwork at the end of day. Only paid for 15 minutes. Should be paid for at least 30 minutes. Very stressful environment to work in.Show
Advice to Management
Increase the shifts to 5 hours to allow staff to process stock and give customers the service they deserve. Cut down on the amount of stock and have less sales to get rid of it. Customers won't buy it at full price - they just wait for it to go on sale. Employ more staff.
