As good as the CFU units are, unlike solar or wind, they still require a non local source of energy. So basically we need two transmission networks, one electric, the other gas.

The gas is not free, and the cost of laying the gas pipelines to every household will be included in the gas price as well.

So the increase in efficiency is very relevant, absolutely from the perspective of $ per watt paid by the consumer, but also from the greenhouse gas reductions perspective.
