no conviction in australia The part of the case that worries most people is the total lack of forensic evidence and the lack of information applied to the physical exhibitions to the court [the boogie board bag and the drugs]. Having been a foreman on a jury in a long drug trial in Australia, I can say that she would not be convicted here. The connection between her and the drugs is not strong enough to persuade an Australian jury and I know of a Melbourne barrister that would defend and get her off the charge without any effort. I do not know if the customs officials were cross examined but it would be interesting to read a court report if they were.
