Ooops. A $100M saving per month in salaries. I am as wrong as Rudd was when he costed his ditching Howard's Pacific solution as a SAVING of $260M per annum.
You need to remember there is a fundamental difference in public service jobs and private sector jobs. A private sector job is created because a business has made a profit or has calculated that it will make a profit.
In stark contrast, a public service job is created through increase taxes, licence fees and higher levels of debt.
A smaller public service inevitably leads to a stronger economy.
