    Successfully generating meaningful amounts of energy from geothermal sources in Tasmania threatens the brown coal generators in the Latrobe Valley, Vic. This is as serious problem for the feds. The preservation of coal fired electricity generation is important to them - esp brown coal generation.

    It's all about votes at the next election. The coal industry wins hands down.
