Here we have a Govt. giving free money to the majority of the electorate, yet their popularity sinks 5%?
The electorate are questioning their ability to manage money, obviously. Now we have the Govt. doing a retreat on their pre-eminant policy, that of Climate Change. And whats with their pronouncements about increasing Defense spending by $300billion with the proviso we reduce Defense spending by $20billion over the next twenty years. Hah?
Penny Wong pleads for the Opposition to support her amendments prior to Coppenhagen, obviously there is little support amongst the Greens. Bad politics Ms Wong, and the whole of Australia deserves a clear policy with proper analysis and justifications.
Ms Wong is obviously a very smart lady. But Mr Rudd is cutting her loose and there don't appear to be many other Ministers standing shoulder to shoulder with him.
