It is interesting to witness the vehemence with which posters opposed to MEL gas developments in the Northern Rivers are prepared to point to the vote for a fracking ban in Denton TX USA.
For starers the vote (and arguments) relate to shale gas development in the US and has absolutely nothing at all to do with CSG or even tight gas of the type that MEL might find at Bentley.
Secondly they forget to mention that more than 70% of proposals for fracking bans failed to get up at the most recent US votes.
And thirdly they are prepared to ignore the fact that the people who were to be most affected by the fracking in Denton voted overwhelming against the ban. Their wishes were overridden by voters from areas surronding the regions two universities.
So again it looks like misinformation and/or omitting important details is the modus operandi of MEL's opponents.
